Hump-day-blues. Often we get to the middle of the week and find ourselves in a bit of an energy slump, both emotionally and physically. The very fact that we call Wednesday hump-day, suggests that we are struggling through the week, waiting for the weekend. Here are some quick tips to help you boost your energy, and get you feeling oh-so-good!

GET OUTSIDE light deprivation is a major factor in causing fatigue. Sunshine is known for boosting your mood and making you feel good. Our bodies also need the vitamin D that is produced when we spend time in the sun.

GO FOR A WALK even a quick 10-15 minute walk is enough to have your energy levels boosted and help relieve stress and tension!

DRINK WATER water accounts for approximately 60% of your body weight. Your organs and all vital systems require water in order to function properly. Dehydration, even at minor levels, can cause various bodily systems to slow down, making you to feel sluggish, tired and irritable.

Next time you’re in need of a quick “pick-me-up” have a glass or two of water. Apart from giving you an energy boost and kicking fatigue in the butt, drinking water will also prevent headaches, help to increase your metabolism, and if that’s not enough, it even helps to keep your skin clear and glowing!

DANCE!! DANCE DANCE! whether you’re in a private office, a toilet cubicle, at home, or if you’re a sanguine and just walking down the street…break into dance. Chuck your i-pod in for a minute, hit your favourite song and let loose! It doesn’t matter what you look like, jumping around and looking like a goof is surprisingly fun, and will lift your energy and have you feeling good in no time!

A group I am associated with did a flashmob on the Gold Coast earlier in the year. If you’ve never done one, you should! They are so much fun! If the word “flashmob” tickles your fancy, floats your boat, makes your ears prick up or your eyes widen…then you need to give one a go! I DARE YOU!

I would love to hear what do you do for a quick “pick-me-up” in the comments below :)
