Wetting yourself outside your comfort zone

“Don’t let fear predict your future.”

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”

People are so afraid of change, getting uncomfortable, being embarrassed, hard work, commitment, that many often spend their lives taking 1 step forward and two steps back. They don’t learn the first time and they go back to the same jobs, friendships and relationships over and over again, not because they work or they’re healthy, but because they’re comfortable.

They throw away fresh starts, new friendships, amazing opportunities to stay in the safety a bubble, that sooner or later has to pop.

Too often we see friends, caught up in the wrong crowd. Eventually breaking free, they can be so scared of what else is out there, that despite all our efforts we watch them get dragged back down again to a place of misery and comfort. And we all have that friend who breaks up and makes up with the same person time and time again. You know it won’t last, they know it won’t last, but they find comfort in each other and the pattern.

Stop being so freaking afraid!!! Get uncomfortable, so uncomfortable you don’t know where to look, what to say, what to do! Get so nervous your palms sweat, your voice shakes. Heck put yourself in such a nerve-racking situation you pee yourself a little!! Break out of your cushie little comfortable life! You don’t even have to get as far as “the wild side,” just actually dare to live a little.

I’m so tired and sad of seeing people walking through life asleep. Wake up, escape, discover, create new friendships, relationships, memories. When you do, you’ll grow. Promise.

Because when you stop and think, are you really happy? Or just comfortable?
